Definition: Refers to the ability of grease to resist oxidation during storage or when used under high-temperature conditions.
① The metal soap and base oil components in grease are prone to oxidation during long-term storage or prolonged exposure to high temperatures and air. Oxidation results in grease deterioration, a decrease in dropping point, the formation of acidic corrosive products, gums, and substances that destroy the structure of the grease.
② The oxidation stability of grease mainly depends on the type of base oil and the antioxidant additives.
Ø Test Standard: SH/T 0325 “Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Grease”, Equivalent Method: ASTM-D942
